- Things to do before any international trip
- The most important thing is to plan everything well in advance, at least 3-4 months just to avoid last minutes confusion and problems.
- Plan your trip based on your budget. For this trip, we spent almost 5-6 lakhs.
- Keep your passport ready [the most important tool for travel abroad]. If you are planning to apply for a new passport or want to renew an existing one, I would suggest doing that 3 months prior to planning a trip.
- Most countries need a visa for Indian visitors. So make sure to be prepared for that, keep all documents in hand. You may need to visit the Visa office for some countries, but in the case of Singapore they provided E-visa for 30 days [in 2016], Thailand gives visa on arrival, and for Malaysia to you need to show documents [passport, proof of accommodation, return flight tickets, photograph].
- Don't forget to store all your images in Google photos or on your laptop/Pc. If you don't do this you will end up losing almost all of them [Like me]. Do clean your phone storage before you travel anywhere.
If it is your first trip abroad and you plan to visit with your family, I would suggest taking the help of a travel agency, why? they take care of everything:
Spots to visit, especially the places where you need to buy tickets Hotels to stay Flights to take Food to eat [for vegetarians you need to be cautious, you never know the food you are eating can be made of fish oil. There are many options for travel agents: Kesari travels, Thomas cook, Veena travels, SOTC and many more [from Mumbai], but choosing the best is absolutely necessary.
We chose Thomas Cook. They took care of everything except our lunch. Any other expense? If you buy some artifacts, souvenirs, or something that is not mentioned in their itinerary.
Hong Kong, Macau, Shenzhen are three destinations that are worth visiting. Hong Kong is famous for its amazing skyline and high-rise buildings. Macau is famous for its luxurious casinos and shopping malls. Shenzhen is known for being one of China's most prosperous cities.
I recently took a trip to Hong Kong, Macau, and Shenzhen. A pretty unheard of destination for most people from the States. However, these 3 cities are not only some of China's wealthiest cities but they're also among the world's largest high-tech manufacturing centres.
This blog post is all about my experience in Hong Kong, Macau, and Shenzhen. I loved it so much that I decided to share my adventure with others before they go so they can learn about these amazing places.
Hong Kong is a metropolitan city on the southern coast of China, Macau is located on the west coast of China, and Shenzhen is about an hour's ride from Hong Kong. Let me tell you more about what you can find in these three cities!
Hong Kong A Brief Introduction
Hong Kong is a special administrative region of China and has a distinct way of life. The city's culture is strongly influenced by its colonial history, as well as Chinese and British traditions.
Some of the most iconic attractions for visitors to Hong Kong include a statue of a dragon at the entrance to the harbour, the historic Tian Tan Buddha at Ngong Ping, and Victoria Peak with incredible views of Kowloon and Shenzhen - China's answer to Silicon Valley.
1. The Waterfront Promenade - is a reclaimed land promenade that runs alongside Victoria Harbour in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong's Kowloon peninsula. The West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade runs alongside Victoria Harbour on reclaimed land in Tsim Sha Tsui on Hong Kong's Kowloon peninsula.
Macau is an autonomous region of China. It has a Portuguese style, but the Chinese culture is still present. Most people speak Mandarin or Cantonese there, but it's also possible to find people that speak English. The food in Macau is very diverse, with influences from all over Asia. It was really interesting eating some dishes that I don't normally see in my own country.
1. Casino Venetian macao - The Venetian is not only Macau's largest casino, but it also contains the world's largest gambling floor. There are 640 gaming tables (baccarat, sands stud poker, blackjack, sic bo, and roulette) and 1,760 slot machines specifically intended for the Asian market within its 376,000 square feet of gaming space.
Shenzhen is a city in China and is considered the Silicon Valley of China. One surprising thing I learned about it is that the city has 34 shopping malls and more than 800 brand-name shops. My favourite place to shop was Huaqiangbei, where I found many high-quality knockoffs.
1. Windows of the World - a historical theme park where replicas of all the world's wonders and historical landmarks have been built. For the ultimate photographs, pretend to be a giant in a land of midgets. You'll also be taken to see a modern exhibition of Chinese folk culture.
Let me know if you are planning to visit these places soon.
