Boys' Road Trip to San Juan (Near Madrid): Beach Hunt Turned Lakeside Party (Last Week)

Last week, my all-boys crew and I drove out from Madrid to San Juan de la Nava—a quick escape near Ávila, chasing those perfect summer beaches. Plot twist: Spain's inland vibes meant no ocean sand, but we turned it into the ultimate squad party at our rented Airbnb, complete with lake chills and non-stop bro energy. Rental car loaded with coolers, reggaeton blasting, zero plans—just sun, laughs, and whatever came next.

Rolled into San Juan mid-afternoon, hit the local bars for veggie tapas first (patatas bravas, grilled peppers, endless alioli—kept us going strong). Our Airbnb was the star: huge finca-style spot with a pool, massive BBQ grill, and deck overlooking the hills. What was meant to be "beach prep beers" exploded into all-night takeover—pool volleyball at midnight, card games with penalties (loser jumps in), Bad Bunny on loop till dawn, and fry-up breakfasts from whatever we grilled the night before. Party HQ on lock, who needs beaches?

Beach mission? We cruised nearby roads hunting spots, but ended up at a chill lakeside area—think calm reservoir waters near the yacht club zone (fancy boats docked, giving that luxe backdrop). Parked up, inflated some floats, and posted: cold drinks, portable veggie BBQ with chorizo alternatives (eggplant skewers, halloumi, peppers), splashing around till sunset. Locals paddleboarding by, deep talks on work and life—lowkey gold, way better than crowded sands. Lake win over beach fail.

San Juan gave us legend status: beach dreams ditched for Airbnb raves and surprise lake hangs. Boys' trip perfected—party hard, chill smart.

Classic crew chaos. Beach redo or lake loyalty next time? Spill your faves!
